This is NOT Mother Goose, guys. First Person Live, a storytelling show for adults (18+) has been selling out its smaller venue since its debut last January. So BaseCamp Pub & Eatery is psyched to be its new home, the first Thursday of the month.

If you’ve heard the wildly popular Moth Radio Hour or podcast, you got this: It’s regular people telling true stories from their lives, in about 5 minutes. The theme changes each month, and so do the stories and the tellers. Each show starts with an open mic – put your name in the hat for a chance to tell your story on stage!

This month’s theme is “That Was Close!” – stories of close calls, near misses and narrow escapes: Run-ins with the IRS, races to the airport, and of course the guy who was almost got by a bear. (Yes, really.)

Doors open at 6:30, so come early for dinner. Tickets are $12 in advance (www.firstpersonlive.com/shows) or $15 cash at the door. Live storytelling is hot, hot, hot in the city – this is your chance to see a show but skip the traffic!
